Validation exercises are required to assess new products or in case of major algorithmic revision. They make full use of all existing correlative data and lead to the production of a comprehensive validation report. VAL tasks: - analyse consistency between BrO columns from GOME-2/Metop-A/B/C - collect, process and evaluate BrO data from BIRA instruments at Harestua (Norway, 60N), and others when available. - collect BrO data sets from independent satellite instruments - comparison of BrO total columns against independent satellite data sets - comparison of BrO total columns against ground-based correlative measurements in Harestua wp_datasources: - GOME-2/Metop-A/B/C BrO column data processed by DLR - GOME-2 total and tropospheric BrO column data from BIRA scientific product - total columns from other satellite sensors (possibly OMI and TROPOMI) - BrO column and profile data from ground-based DOAS UV-visible spectrometers at Harestua wp_deliverables: - GOME-2 BrO validation report End
